A Musical Legacy!

This poem was written to celebrate the launch of the book “Apollo Memories” and the success of the website about The Glasgow Apollo for one of the website’s creators.  The Apollo left a legacy to the world of music and the book is a must for rock fans everywhere!  (Visit www.glasgowapollo.com).

The poem was laser printed onto card and featured some of the photos from the website, along with one of the book cover itself.

A Full Century!

This particular gift was commissioned to mark the 100th birthday of a very special head of an extended family in June 2005. It reflects on her 100  years as well as on the celebration her family held in her honour.

Handwritten in ink in traditional calligraphy, it is mounted onto card and decorated with central ink drawings of a Victorian lamppost and penny-farthing bicycle.  The hubs of the wheels for the bicycle were enhanced with a 2005 new penny and a 1905 farthing!

Honeymoon Memories

To mark the first anniversary of this couples wedding, several verses were written to reflect on their “out of the way” honeymoon in a remote welsh farmhouse surrounded by sheep with the occasional butterfly for additional company that seemed to re-appear in different rooms on a daily basis!

The poem was laser printed as white script writing with a pink background, mounted and framed with a small white lace butterfly to the right of the last verse.

Life’s a Stage

This short but poignant poem was written to celebrate the 18th Birthday of a talented and aspiring young singer/dancer/actress.

The verses were laser printed as black script writing on a grey background to match the silver/black frame.  A splash of colour was added with 3 balloons in the bottom right hand corner – One showed the recipient’s initials, one said “18th” and the other was the actual  18th birthday date.
